Md. Abir Hossain is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, Bangladesh. His academic and research work is focused on experimental Food Engineering, with interests in food innovations, food microbiology, traditional and ethnic foods, fermentation, sustainable food systems, dairy processing, food safety and quality. His research experience includes laboratory-based product development, traditional food detailing and processing and quality evaluation of local-underutilized ingredients. He is particularly keen to develop novel foods outlining the sustainable and innovative practices addressing SDGs like "Zero Hunger" and "Good Health and Well-being".
