Humayra Anan, B. Arch
Assistant Professor, Department of Architecture, DUET, Gazipur
Humayra Anan completed her graduation from the Department of Architecture, BUET in 2020. She began her professional journey as a community architect with the Platform of Community Action and Architecture (POCAA). After the completion of the fellowship, she worked as a Research Assistant in multiple research projects in DoA, BUET and later served as a part-time lecturer in DoA, BUET. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor at DoA, DUET, Gazipur, and pursuing her M.Arch degree in the Housing and Settlement Division of DoA, BUET. She is passionate about community engagement, housing for urban poor and excluded communities, participatory research design, climate resilience and documentation of vernacular architecture. She has collaborated extensively with POCAA on various research initiatives centred on community-led development, climate-resilient housing, and the restoration of urban wetlands. She has received multiple national and international accolades for her works, including UnIADA- Unfuse International Architectural Dissertation Awards (2020), KSRM awards for Future Architects (2020), Berger Best Design Award Session 2017-2018 (2021), Best Paper Award in International Conference on Sustainable Engineering Development (2023), and Commendation in research category in IAB awards (2024). She is a member of Community Architects Network (CAN). She perceives architecture as a powerful social tool and is committed to exploring inclusive, socially responsive design within the evolving architectural landscape of Bangladesh
