Dr. Md. Zakir Hasan is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur. He joined the department as a Lecturer in 2012, was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2015, and has been serving as Associate Professor since 2024. Dr. Hasan completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Water Resources Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Nagoya University, Japan, in 2024. His research interests include river engineering, open channel flow, hydro-morphology of natural and engineered channels, and physical and mathematical modeling of river systems. Dr. Hasan is actively engaged in teaching, research, and consultancy in the broader field of water resources and river management.
