Dr. Akm Zakaria is a distinguished professor who has been working as Head of the Department in the Humanities and Social Sciences at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology, Gazipur (DUET) Bangladesh. He obtained Ph.D. & MA in English Language Education/ Teaching (ELT/ELE) from The English & Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad, India, and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English Literature from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, U.P. India. He has more than 25 years of teaching/research experience and 30 plus publications including research papers, book reviews, and conference proceedings. His areas of interest include ELT Curriculum/syllabus design, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), SLA, Sociolinguistics, Applied Linguistics, Research Methodology, Needs analysis, materials development.
