Md. Mahmud Alam, PhD

Professor, Department of Mathematics, DUET, Gazipur

Dr. Md. Mahmud Alam is the Professor of Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, Bangladesh. Prof. Alam has been serving as Professor in the Department of Mathematics at of DUET since 2010. Prior to this, he joined as a Lecturer in 1986, promoted to an Assistant Professor in 1991 and then to an Associate Professor in 2008 in the Department of Mathematics of DUET. He had been serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Science of DUET from 2023 to 2025. Also, He had been serving as the Head of the Department of Mathematics of DUET from 1986-1996, 2001-2002, 2012-2014, 2024-2025. He received his PhD in Mathematics in the field of Fluid Dynamics from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2010. Earlier he received his MPhil. in Mathematics from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1997, his M.Sc. in Mathematics from Chittagong University, Chattogram, Bangladesh in 1984, and his B.Sc. in Mathematics from Chittagong University, Chattogram, Bangladesh in 1983. He has vast and diversified research expertise in the field of Fluid dynamics. Prof. Alam is seen to be involved in securing a significant position for the publications of national and international journals and conference papers based on his research expertise. He has more than 62 papers published in international and national journals and conferences (11 papers).
