Mohammad Jakir Hossain was awarded Doctor of Engineering in Space Science from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Malaysia. Dr. Mohammad Jakir Hossain joined the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, in 2006. He is currently serving as a professor of the Dept. of EEE at DUET, since 2020. His research interests include metamaterials, metamaterial-based absorbers, antennas, IoT, wireless communication, microwaves, and satellite communication. Dr. Hossain successfully led and completed two research projects as a Project Director funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC). He is an active member of the International Advisory Committee (IAC) for the 7th, 8th, and 9th International Conferences on Space Science and Communication, organized by the Space Science Centre (ANGKASA) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Additionally, Dr. Hossain has served as the Technical Chair and Organizing Co-Chair for the IEEE International Conference on Advancement in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, hosted by the Department of EEE at DUET, Gazipur, Bangladesh. Dr. Hossain is also a member of the committee for Technical Education Reform, under the Technical and Madrasah Education Division of the Ministry of Education, which focuses on promoting demand-driven, quality, and skill-based technical education for both domestic and international labor markets. Dr. Hossain served as a Speaker at Ammunition Technical Officers’ Course-24 and Course-25, held on 2022 and 2024, organized by Ordnance Centre & School, Rajendrapur Cantonment. Bangladesh. His academic achievements include receiving the Best Presenter Award and Zamalah Scholarship during his PhD program, as well as the First Prize and Best Paper Award at the 2022 International Conference on Advancement in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Furthermore, Dr. Hossain has written numerous research papers that have been published in respected peer-reviewed journals and presented at various international conferences. He actively contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for numerous international journals and conferences. Dr. Hossain is a life fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
