Dr. Md. Rafikul Islam, PhD

Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, DUET, Gazipur

Dr. Md. Rafikul Islam has completed his B. Sc (Hons) and M.S in Chemistry department from Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka. After his M.S degree, he joined as lecturer at Barisal Cadet College. Leaving from Cadet College service permanently, he went Japan for pursuing his doctoral degree. Dr. Islam was awarded his PhD degree on synthetic organic chemistry from Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan. During his PhD tenure, he synthesized a number of pyren related, highly conjugated organic compounds and characterized them successfully. Currently, he is focusing his study on drug/dye-surfactants interaction in various additives media using conductivity, cloud point and spectroscopic techniques. Furthermore, he has great interest in computational chemistry. Since Joining as a lecturer of Chemistry at DUET, he has been working as an assistant professor in the same department. Dr. Islam is very passionate about both teaching and research.
