Rotan Kumar Saha is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, where he also obtained his B.Sc. in IPE and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on advanced and additive manufacturing, polymer and composite materials, nanocomposites, machine learning-assisted materials processing and optimization of manufacturing systems. He has authored multiple journal and conference publications on 3D-printed composite materials, machining optimization and finite element simulations. He currently leads a UGC-funded research project on machine-learning-optimized recycled polymer composites for sustainable 3D printing. Prior to joining academia, he worked in the Epyllion Group in industrial operations and planning department. He teaches courses in manufacturing processes, safety engineering, computer-integrated manufacturing, materials engineering and product development. He has received several academic honors, including the Academic Excellence Award and Dean’s Award and actively contributes to consultancy, research and testing services within the department.
