Dr. Md. Shibly Anwar is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, an M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from BUET, and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from RUET. With more than a decade of teaching experience, Dr. Anwar has served in key academic positions and supervised numerous B.Sc. and M.Sc. research projects. Before joining academia, he worked in multinational organizations such as Nokia Siemens Networks Ltd. and Banglalink, gaining substantial experience in civil engineering construction and project management. Dr. Anwar’s research interests include coastal and river morphology, erosion–accretion dynamics, climate-driven hydrological variability, and the use of GIS and remote sensing in environmental and water systems analysis. He is also a member of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
