Dr. Md. Suman Mia is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Bangladesh. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from The University of Tokyo. His research focuses on structural engineering, computational mechanics, sustainable cementitious materials, concrete durability, and the reliability of offshore renewable energy infrastructure, with particular emphasis on offshore floating wind turbine foundations. His current research integrates advanced numerical modeling, material degradation, structural reliability, and life-cycle assessment to develop resilient and sustainable infrastructure systems. His academic excellence has been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the Prime Minister Gold Medal, the University Gold Medal, and multiple Dean's Awards. In addition to his research, Dr. Mia is committed to engineering education, international collaboration, and the advancement of sustainable infrastructure technologies. His long-term vision is to bridge materials science, structural engineering, and computational mechanics to address global challenges related to infrastructure resilience, climate adaptation, and the transition to low-carbon energy systems.
