Professor Dr. Ummey Rayhan was appointed as a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology, Gazipur, Bangladesh in 2004 and now is serving as a full time professor in the same Department. She earned her Ph.D in Advanced Organic Chemistry from Saga University, Japan in March 2014 under the supervision of Professor Takehiko Yamato. She was awarded Master of philosophy (M. Phil.) degree in Chemistry from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka in 2005. In her academic career she passed both B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. in Chemistry from Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka securing first class.
